·         Working within the guidelines for Design and Capacity Planning of RAN for MC

·         Report to Optimization Head for all RAN activities

·         To ensure deliveries as per SLA

·         Monitoring of Network Performance during rollout or capacity expansion; maintain the system within set KPIs and expansion path

·         Network Capacity and performance monitoring

·         Monthly Capacity Dimensioning

Qualification:

·         Excellent knowledge and experience of: 2G Network

·         Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering.

·         Radio Network Statistics; KPI's; parameter level optimization

·         PC based tools.

·         Knowledge / experience of standard IT environments

·         Very high knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments.

·         Knowledge of SQL database solutions as well as GIS.

·         Local requirements and regulation of RF documentation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
2G RF Ericsson Optimization Expert
Job definition:
To provide 2G RF optimization technical services for Ericsson networks.
Main Responsibility Areas:
As a 2G RF Ericsson optimization expert, main responsibilities includes (but not limited to):
• Analyzing & solving the RF optimization problems, improve site KPI to reach the target value.
• Troubleshooting，solve user complaints issues.
• Maintain the GSM Radio network performance, such as: Accessibility, Retain ability, Mobility & Service Integrity.
• Improve the main KPI's like : Call setup success rate, call drop rate, Blocking rate ,Handover Success Rate, Location Update Success Rate, Paging Success Rate, and EDGE&GPRS performance.
• Audit/tune Cell frequency/neighbor cell planning whenever needed.
• Arrange site SSV/Cluster level DT, analyze DT log for problem site/area.
• Explain KPI changes and optimization strategy & plan to customer to solve main problems and critical issues.
• Responsible for making radio network optimization strategy and plan for a long-term radio network optimization activity; new BSS feature implementation and new parameter trials.
• Ensure that all cells are behaving within agreed-upon guidelines.
• Troubleshoot problematic cells and take necessary actions and follow-ups till they are cleared.
• Training on the job to local engineers and knowledge transfer.
• Analyzing site performance after integration through drive test measurements and/or OSS measurements, detecting eventual problems and recommending changes to fixing those problems.
• Defining main alarms to be monitored regarding the indicators to be improved.
• Defining and monitoring parameter consistency check rules in order to Maintain RAN parameter database consistent internally and implemented according to the RAN default parameters and RAN planned specific parameters.
• Defining and monitoring "worst objects" reports at BTS level.
• Analyzing and troubleshooting "worst objects" reports by recommending software changes, hardware changes or alerting O&M in case of hardware problem.
• Analyzing drive test measurements to detect eventual problems and recommend changes to fix those problems.

Key Competencies:
• Deep knowledge with 2G equipments, features and parameters of Ericsson.
• Deep knowledge and practice of 2G planning and optimization processes specially in Ericsson networks.
• Deep knowledge and practice of 2G RF Planning tool (NetAct Planner or equivalent).
• Deep knowledge and practice of drive test measurement/analysis tool (both TEMS and NEMO).
• Deep knowledge and practice of Ericsson RAN parameters and counters (BSD, CSD, CDD,..).
• Deep knowledge and practice of OSS, RAN tools: Configuration Management, Performance Management, Fault Management related e.g. MRR, FAS, CTR, CNA, … etc.
• Hands on experience in Business Objects and free hands SQL queries.
