Transmission Planner NSN Malaysia

We have an opportunity for a Transmission Planner which may be of interest to you.  I have attached a full job specification for your perusal, the main scope of the job is detailed below.

The scope of work is follows but not limited to:

1. New links, 2G/3G/EDGE/etc:

a. Review the TSSR or TP submitted by DWC or Maxis’ contractors

b. Site and link plot

c. LOS distance and azimuth verification

d. LOS verification based on desktop study

e. E1 route and capacity study

f. Far-end site confirmation

g. E2E E1 route reservation

h. Trigger for link upgrade (PDH/SDH/) and tracking

i. Submit TSSR/TP review report for Maxis approval

2. Upgrade links, 2G/3G/EDGE/etc:

a. E1 route and capacity study

b. Trigger for link upgrade/reroute (PDH/SDH/) and tracking

c. Submit work report for Maxis approval

3. Transmission link/hop design (TSD/SO/SVO) for new, upgrade and reroute links:

a. LOS verification

b. NMS design

c. Perform Link Budget analysis

d. Frequency study and allocation by referring to frequency scanning result

e. Equipment, accessory and material reservation based on approved BOQ Note: TSD/SO must be flexible according to equipment availability. The TSD will be on-line approved by Maxis

f. Update Maxis database as and when needed

4. Others

a. Participate in ad hoc projects or initiatives related to transmission

b. Topology analysis of the existing network

c. Existing Equipment Specification Analysis

d. Frequency Allocation review

e. Transmission Network Reboundary, Clusterization & Re-routing

f. Transmission Network Capacity & Protection System Detail Plan

We are looking for this TSG engineering profile in Lisbon.
Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities: - Technical support to products across all projects in GNOC
- Network trouble analysis and correction tasks to ensure high availability of the Customer network
- Liaises with Customer Care organization regarding Network outages
- Liaises with NSN CARE (local CIT, global GCC) & TS organizations regarding ticket escalation and outages

- Ensures end-end support, coordination and control of assigned Trouble Tickets
- Supports Fault Management and Monitoring teams on trouble ticket analysis and internal escalations
- Provides major service outage investigations and follow up
- Support on-duty 24 x7 when required

Requirements: Relevant experience in Telecommunications:
- Minimum 2 year experience in Mobile, Fixed & Convergent networks and their subsystems in a multivendor environment
- Expertise on products and their network environment in one of the following areas:
Radio network elements (BSC, BTS, RNC, NodeB)
Access network elements (PDH MW, DWDM, OXC, ADM)
IP/Transmission network elements (DSLAM, BRAS, NAS)
CS/PS Core network elements (MSC, MSC-S, MGW, GGSN, SGSN, HLR)
VAS (Value Added Services) applications (VOD, IPTV, MMS, SMS, IN, IVR, Billing)
- Experience with troubleshooting tools
- Experience with trouble ticket systems tools
- Fault identification/correction skills on the particular subsystem and equipment

1. Back Office Engineer
Requirements:
- Responsible for performing tier 2 support to operation and maintenance activities on access nodes (BSS and RAN network). Have good working experience in radio access network elements and systems.
- To perform early detection and classification of performance changes in BSS/RAN systems and suggest remedies.

- Analyze daily reports on radio traffic report, busy hour report, signaling utilization report and network performance report.
- To conduct identification on drop call / call setup failure rate in respective cluster and perform coverage improvement methods.
- Conduct early detection in radio congestion, classification of RF performance changes and suggest on remedies.         
- To conduct analysis of early warning alarm and initiate corrective maintenance to resolve the problem.
- To assist operation team in isolation and troubleshooting of faults in radio network, ensure SLA commitment is achieved.
- Project initiation on radio access network related projects and coordinate within engineering division for capacity upgrades
- Radio access network performance analysis, capacity management and KPI reporting
- To authorize NMS system and support system management
- Escalation and joint fault restoration with third party vendor/supplier.

Requirements:
-Complete the overall design of the Siemens BSS network
-Carry out the detailed design and dimensioning of BSS signaling
-Carry out the detailed interface design (A, A-ter, A-bis, Gb) for new network elements integration
-Provide LAC Design/Splitting for Siemens BSC
-Carry out the detailed BSS network re-location, re-homing, re-parents to maximum resource utilization
